About My Practice
Corina Manders, LCSW
New York
With over 20 years of experience working with individuals and families of all ages and backgrounds, I offer a warm, safe and non-judgmental space for healing. My approach is holistic and collaborative with the goal of helping clients to understand our natural, primal responses to stress and trauma, and how this awareness can foster understanding and healing.
My practice focuses on the psychological, emotional and relational complexities of building families - especially when the path looks different than expected - as well as what life looks like without the family you planned. I specialize in providing support to individuals who may be experiencing infertility, pregnancy loss, seeking alternative pathways to building family, pursuing foster care and adoption, parenting through surrogacy, child and teen mental health, grief, loss and managing complex relationships. My work history includes: therapeutic foster care, counseling services for women and children experiencing homelessness, certified birth and postpartum doula, individual and family counseling in an outpatient setting as well as individual and family counseling in K - 12 school settings.
Drawing from evidence-based and creative approaches including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Narrative Therapy , Eco Psychology, Art Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I tailor each session to your unique story and needs. I am committed to providing an affirming, inclusive, and culturally responsive therapeutic space. I welcome and actively support LGBTQ+ individuals, as well as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). I look forward to meeting you and being a part of your journey.
